FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT EFT
How many sessions do I need?
This is individual, largely depending on the nature of the problem.
Many times, EFT creates a ‘one-minute wonder’, where a problem disappears within minutes, occasionally seconds.
More complex difficulties usually require more persistence, such as depression, serious illness, addictions, etc. Yet results are typically faster than with traditional methods.
Does EFT work on ____________________________?
EFT has potential to help with just about emotional or physical ailment,
but there is no guarantee. The catchword is ‘Try it and see’. The success rate is so high that you might as well. (You can read a multitude of personal case reports on the world centre EFT website EMOFREE )
If you don’t succeed yourself, you may need EFT practitioner help.
Sometimes EFT has helped with conditions judged hopeless elsewhere.
How soon can I use it?
You can learn to use basic EFT in one session or in one workshop.
Beginners typically START with a success rate of 50%
(Experienced practitioners achieve a success rate in the nineties.)
Can there be any harmful effects from EFT?
The process is harmless. All you are doing is balancing your energy system.
No negative effects have been reported. (‘Tapping’ on yourself means to tap lightly. You don’t need bruises!)
Where does EFT come from?
We owe a tremendous debt of gratitude to U.S. Stanford-trained engineer Gary Craig (who is also a Neuro-Linguistic Programming Master).
Gary developed EFT in the 1990s out of 2 main sources:
Kinesiology, developed by chiropractor Dr. George Goodheart and psychiatrist Dr. John Diamond
Thought Field Therapy, developed by psychologist Dr. Roger Callahan
Since 1995 Gary Craig has made EFT freely available on the Internet through his website EMOFREE and continues to deliver it to the world.
What is this ‘meridian’ energy system?
This is the energy system that acupuncture and acupressure work through, as do other Eastern healing systems such as Chinese medicine. The Chinese have been facilitating healing via this system for 4,000 years. However, EFT extends the range of uses tremendously.
Western medicine does not yet acknowledge the invisible meridian system. But, particularly because of EFT results that Western science can’t yet explain, scientific studies are now being carried out across this field of Energy Psychology Therapy.
How can I learn more than the basics of EFT?
You may attend an EFT Workshop or Retreat, or have tuition in one or more private consultations with an EFT practitioner. Advanced training is now available in Australia from 2 EFT Masters, Maggie Adkins and Rehana Webster (see their websites). Gary Craig has produced a superb series of training DVDs demonstrating how to use EFT, and you can order these (with discounts) from the link on my ‘What is EFT?’ Page.
